Housing
Options
Note: Dancers
under 18 years old
who stay in BJDW-arranged housing must be accompanied
by an adult chaperone (teacher, parent, older sibling,
etc). There must be at least one chaperone for every
10 minors. If staying elsewhere, out of town minors
are expected to have a designated adult supervisor
as well. BJDW does not provide or arrange
for chaperones.
BJDW has arranged for dancers to stay
in the University of Colorado’s Athens North
Apartments. If you attended BJDW in the past, please
note that apartments at Varsity Townhouses are not
an option for 2010.
Athens North Apartments
These are on-campus furnished apartments, originally
designed for married students. BJDW will make all
arrangements for dancers who are attending the Weekend
Workshop and/or the Two-Week Intensive.
Space is limited – early reservations
are recommended!

• A packet of bed sheets, towel, washcloth,

Other
accommodations
(turn-key apartments, motels, B & B's. Automobile
or public transportation may be necessary.)
Short-term housing close to campus
is difficult to find and can be quite expensive. After
extensive research BJDW has determined that Athens
North is the best option for our dancers. If you wish
to make other arrangements, Housing Helpers (see below)
or a similar service may be able to provide a good
alternative, but before deciding to rent a place,
be sure to consider things such as the distance from
the Dance Building, extra time needed to commute to
& from campus, and having to wait for a bus or
find a parking space each day.
If
searching independently for housing on the internet
(through Craigslist, etc), beware of rental fraud!
Proceed at your own risk! To avoid scams, you should
have someone local check out any property you are
considering renting through these channels. BJDW does
not provide this service.

They have properties in various locations around town.
All of their properties are quite nice, fully furnished
turn-key apartments (everything is provided: linens,
TV, Phone, DVD, fully equipped kitchen, etc.). Their
shortest lease is for 1 month and they are pricey
but generally cheaper than most hotels.
