Two Week Intensive
Wherever you will be staying, you should arrive on Friday, July 18, 2008 and check-in to your housing, unless you wish to pre-place yourself in the intermediate level (Level II). Dancers who are pre-placed in Level II need not attend pre-workshop activities on July 19th & 20th (however they may want to attend the Weekend Workshop!). Pre-placed Level II students may arrive Sunday, July 20, 2008.

For the two-week intensive, housing options include:

BJDW-arranged housing

1. the University of Colorado Residence Halls (CU Dormitories, on campus).

2.
Varsity Townhouses - furnished apartments (off-campus).

Self-arranged housing

3.
local motels or hotels (see suggestions below).

If you want to take advantage of BJDW-arranged housing, you should pay when you register:

Weekend Workshop: If you are only attending the Weekend Workshop, and staying in the dorms, please pay $100.48 total housing fee (non-refundable)

Full workshop: If you are attending the 2-Week Intensive, whether you are staying in the dorms or Varsity, or a combination of the two, please pay $150 housing deposit (non-refundable) and we will let you know the balance. This $150 deposit will be applied to your rent of a CU dormitory room and/or Varsity Townhouses apartment.

• local motels or hotels (see suggestions below)

Students Under 18
Please note: In order for a minor from out of town to attend the workshop, a parent, or other adult supervisor approved by a parent, must reside with the minor student during the entire duration of his or her stay. Minors unable to provide their own adult supervisor(s) may be chaperoned in the dormitory at an additional cost by volunteer BJDW scholarship students.

Housing Helpers 303-545-6000
They have properties in various locations around town. All of their properties are quite nice, fully furnished turn-key (linens, TV, Phone, DVD, fully equipped kitchens etc.) apartments. One of their properties is an apartment complex off the east edge of campus. The Dance Building is on the west edge of campus, so it's a short drive or a long (but pleasant) walk. Their shortest lease is for 1 month and they are pricey but less than most hotels.

Silver Saddle Motel 303-442-8022
Rustic place with kitchenettes in some rooms; it's on the west edge of town, a short drive to the Dance Building. Across the street from a nice city park.

Newly refurbished, this motel is the closest to the Dance Building, about a
10-minute walk; across the street from Varsity Townhouses. Room with a double
bed is $99; room with 2 double beds or 1 king-size bed is $109.

Sandy Point Inn 800-322-2939, (talk to Edward)
Outside of Boulder, 7 miles from the Dance Building, about 15 minutes drive in light traffic, longer in heavy traffic (more usual). It's easy to spot, on a corner of a residential neighborhood, in a 2-story frame building, kind of a cross between an old family-run hotel & efficiency-apartment building. There's a tiny lobby area, a small breakfast room (breakfast included in price of room), and kitchen available for use by guests. All slightly old & worn but very clean & homey. Each of the 30 or so rooms has 2 double or queen beds, TV, phone, bathroom, fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, utensils, dinette table & chairs. Some rooms also have a sofa. Last year their weekly rate was $500 + tax. They say they will beat any rate in the city of Boulder.

Pearl Street Inn 303-444-5584
A fairly high-end B&B just east of Boulder's famous Pearl Street pedestrian mall; close to shopping, restaurants.

Briar Rose B&B 303-442-3007
